In May 2021, the ADI Design Museum was inaugurated, one of the largest museums in Europe dedicated to design: 5,000 square meters of exhibition space that houses all the winning pieces of the Compasso d’Oro Award, in the homonymous square with entrance from Via Ceresio 7 or Via Bramante 42.
Open to the public since May 26, it is a self-generating museum that is constantly renewed in its contents and collection: with each edition new acquisitions are added to the historical pieces of permanent collection, over 2000 objects awarded since 1954 that open up from many magical boxes.
In addition, Teresa Pomodoro’s Zen garden was inaugurated in April 2021, a park that represents the happy osmosis between cultural, artistic and institutional commitment as well as the perfect and peaceful coexistence of man and nature.
An incredibly extraordinary green area, a unique place for the Lombard capital which, for years, has been involved in the redevelopment and enhancement of green spaces in the city. And now in Piazza Piola there is a corner of green peace open to citizens.
A redevelopment project promoted by the No’hma Theater and dedicated to its founder, the Milanese actress, director and playwright Teresa Pomodoro, who created a magical park that brings with it all the charm and magic of Japanese hanami.
A pedestrian path, in which eleven benches surrounded by cherry trees have been installed, winds around the square recreating the shape of a drop, to recall the lightness of water. Because in the Zen garden, nature and man live together in perfect balance.
